This Privacy Policy explains how Tutoro (“Tutoro”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use tutoro.live (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image.
• Learning content. The subjects you choose, your chat messages, the lessons generated for you, and related learning state are stored so the Service can teach you across sessions.
• Approximate location. We derive a coarse country from your IP address for analytics and abuse prevention. We do not store your raw IP address.
• Usage & technical data. Basic activity and usage metrics (for example, token usage for fair-use limits) needed to operate and secure the Service.
• Payment information. Subscription payments are handled by Paddle (see below). We do not collect or store your full card details.

2. How we use your information

• to provide, personalize, and improve the tutoring Service;
• to generate lessons and tutoring responses tailored to your goals;
• to operate accounts, enforce usage limits, and prevent abuse;
• to process subscriptions and comply with legal and tax obligations; and
• to communicate with you about the Service when needed.

3. AI processing

To generate lessons and responses, your messages and learning context are sent to third-party AI providers (including Anthropic for tutoring and OpenAI for text-to-speech narration) and to web search where the tutor needs to ground a lesson in a trusted source. These providers process the data to return results to us. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information in your messages.

4. Service providers we share data with

We share limited data with providers that help us run the Service:

• Google — authentication (sign-in).
• Anthropic — AI tutoring and lesson generation.
• OpenAI — optional text-to-speech (read-aloud) narration.
• Paddle — payment processing and Merchant of Record for subscriptions.
• Railway — application hosting and database.

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose information to authorities only where required by law.

5. Data retention

We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us (see below); we will delete it except where we must retain certain records (e.g., billing/tax) to comply with law.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email us at [email protected].

7. Cookies & sessions

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use advertising cookies.

8. International transfers

Tutoro is operated from Israel, and our providers may process data in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
